CoyoteTrust: Archiving, with some reluctance. I appreciated this series idea for both personal and geocache-related reasons, but I think this is the best route after its long run. I'm sorry it affects the four others caches related to this series, but perhaps Panther, the series CO (Commanding Officer!) would like to reinstate it. Here's the deal... 1: This natural area has been undergoing habitat restoration for 3 years now, and the landscape is changing -- in a good way. 2: Restoration crews (some who know me) have stated that the cache was found and has been moved from time to time; I've worked with them on occasion and I've even slightly moved the cache at one time or another. Ideal hosts are a bit scarce now without significant coordinate updates. 3: Today, 3/03/2019, I found the cache out of place and it contained some of the forest floor trash, i.e.: paper, food wrappers, and even a smashed, pull-tab style Hamm's beer can, all of which were likely found in its vicinity. 4: Many cache contents were melted together, as there have been prescribed burns here, yet the log book survived, as did the ammo can! 5: It's coming up on two years since an active seeker has paid a visit. The last accidental finder was a non-geocacher who logged in November 2018, stating he is retired US Army who stumbled upon the cache. Well, this had a good run; too bad the series became less popular in its latter years. I'll still consider placing another cache in this wondrous area, but certainly not in this same locale. Thanks to Panther in the Den for the series' inception, as well as team members JustUsTwo and KroBro for contributing. Thanks to all of the finders.
