Quarry Hill Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

The site is near the top of a small wooded hill that was once quarried for paving stone. You can get most of the way unpaved roads that were once used as haul roads. To reach the summit you'll have to do a bit of cross county. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO ID POISON OAK!

The cache is in a hollow in an old snag which lies downslope of the waypoint. The waypoint itself lies at the eastern edge of the summit quarry at my favorite sitting spot amongst moss covered boulders under a conopy of oaks. The snag is clearly visable downslope and to the northeast. The container is a black plastic cylinder with a bright yellow lid. Goodies inside include emergency water, a hand warmer, $3.00 cash for ice cream or coffe on your way home, bubbles, beads, and a toy dog. The container was switched out May 1, 2007. The new container is smaller but still of generous size and it has a threaded lid.
