[CnK] Giesiou Traditional Geocache

Come talvolta capita, questo cache ha una storia particolare.
Lungo la strada per l'evento dei 10 anni di geocaching tenutosi a Pavia all'inizio di Maggio 2010 abbiamo cercato di fare il cache di Trivolzio, ma visto che il parcheggio era pieno e per evitare di arrivare in ritardo, alla fine abbiamo desistito e mentre riprogrammavamo il GPS abbiamo ripreso e proseguito per la strada che avevamo fatto in precedenza. Subito dopo il ponte sull'autostrada abbiamo immediatamente notato una piccola chiesetta che ci ha colpito subito e che meritava un cache. Ed eccolo qui.
Grazie a Madmartigan che ci ha portati a Trivolzio e al BubiTeam che ci ha fatto superare il ponte.

Non è facile trovare informazioni su questa cappella, posta subito dopo il ponte sull'autostrada A4, passata la chiesa principale del paese. Alle poche informazioni raccolte in rete aggiungiamo quelle, assolutamente più importanti, che ci ha dato un gentilissimo passante quando gli abbiamo chiesto il nome di questa chiesetta mentre stavano nascondendo il cache.

Ci ha raccontato che in questo luogo pare sorgesse una piccola edicola dedicata alla Madonna dell'Assunta e fu deciso di seppellire qui i morti dell'epidemia di peste raccontata da Manzoni nei "Promessi Sposi" e che, ovviamente, colpì anche questa zona. A Trivolzio, però il numero di decessi non fu così alto come nelle frazioni vicine e di questo fu dato merito proprio all'Assunta che visto la disperazione della gente, aveva scelto di raccogliere la peste e di tenersela per se, liberando quindi Trivolzio e poi la zona da questa malattia. Per questo motivo gli abitanti decisero di costruire una cappella per ringraziare la Madonna di questo miracolo.

La passione con la quale ci è stata raccontata questa storia, che sembra essere più simile ad una leggenda, va oltre a quelli che sono i dati storici del primo catasto del 1723 che confermano la presenza di una cappella nel cimitero, già nel periodo della peste "manzoniana" (intorno al 1630). Nel 1861 fu ricostruito dal parroco Morosini e di quel periodo è l'affresco della Madonna dell'Assunta realizzato dal pittore locale Giovanni Beri. Nel 1908 il prevosto Merli lo fece poi ricostruire nuovamente.

Il Chiesuolo, "Giesiou" come è chiamato dagli abitanti di Trivolzio, è aperto tutte le domeniche di Maggio e il 15 Agosto.

Note sul cache:
Si tratta di un contenitore di plastica ermetico contenente il logbook e con spazio per oggetti di scambio, geocoin e travel bug. Non c'è, però, la penna. Vi chiediamo di avere molto rispetto per il luogo ed è superfluo sottolineare di rimettere il cache nella stessa identica posizione in cui lo avete trovato.

As sometimes happens, this cache has a particular story. Along the road to the 10 years of geocaching event held in Pavia at the beginning of May 2010 we tried to look for the Trivolzio cache, but since the parking lot was full and to avoid being late, we finally gave up. While we were reprogramming the GPS we followed the road that we taken to get there. Immediately after the bridge on the highway, we noticed a small church that was calling for a cache. And here it is.
A thank to Madmartigan that brought us to Trivolzio and to BubiTeam that made us cross that bridge.

It is not easy to find information on this chapel, that is placed immediately after the bridge over the highway A4, just passing the main Church of the small village. To the very limited information collected on the net we add the absolutely important one that a very kind man that was passing by gave us when we asked the name of this small Church, while we were hiding the cache.

He told us that probably in this place there was a small shrine dedicated to "Madonna dell'Assunta". Here it was decided to bury the deads of the plague (the one told by Manzoni in the "Promessi Sposi") that, of course, struck this area as well. But in Trivolzio the number of deaths was not that high as in the neighboring villages and this was given merit to the Virgin Mary that after seeing the desperation of the people had chosen to collect the plague and keep if for herself, thus freeing Trivolzio and then the area by this disease.
For this reason, the inhabitants decided to build a chapel to thank the "Madonna dell'Assunta" for this miracle.

The passion with which we have been told this story, which seems more like a legend, go beyond those that are the historical data of the first survey of 1723 which confirmed the presence of a chapel in the cemetery, even before the plague "Manzoni" (around 1630). In 1861 it was rebuilt by the parish Morosini and that time is dated the fresco of the "Madonna dell'Assunta" painted by the local oainter Giovanni Beri. In 1908 the provost Merli did then rebuild again.

The "Chiesuola" (local slang for "small church"), "Giesiou" as called by the inhabitants of Trivolzio is open every Sunday in May and on August 15th.

We are talking of a waterproof plastic container containing the logbook and with some space for trading items, geocoins and travel bugs. Be advised that there is no pen/pencil. We ask you to have particular respect for the location and it is not necessarily to say put it back in the same position you have found it.
