This cache is placed at the Kelly's Knob Overlook off of the
Appalachian Trail. Once there, if you look off to your left, you
will get a nice view of Blacksburg and the Virginia Tech campus.
The first part of the hike is pretty steep-- but once you complete
that initial ascention, it's a nice trail that follows the
ridgeline of the mountain.
Original contents of the cache include:
*Shake, Rattle and Roll travel bug
*Hand sanitizers
*A lobster beanie keychain
*A United Way pen
*Two lighters/bottle openers
*Log book, pen and pencil
The cache is pretty well hidden to prevent accidental
discovery.

I was hiking the AT w/ taterbugg & "Erin the great" (muggle) when we found this cache. Awesome view. No rattlesnakes this time, but a great place for lunch. TNLNSL TFTH!

I loved this one. Beautiful hike, astounding view, all kinds of critters, and a challenging cache hunt.
Signed Log and left something that escapes my memory right now. I think this is my new favorite spot outside of bburg!

Another beautiful day for a hike. First time on this hike for us and I was very surprised there wasn't a single sign for Kelly's Knob anywhere. What's with that? There was a little snow on the rocks which made it a bit slick, but we found the cache fairly quickly. TFTC.

We really enjoyed this hike, and on such a pretty day as well! Thanks for taking us to such a neat place. We've lived in the area for years,but never made this hike before.

Found the cache with no problem. Great hiding place! Took snack food, left spiritual food. Definitely a "snakey" location: people at the lookout just before us saw a large rat snake; we saw a medium-sized rattle snake on the way out (fat with it's last meal!).
