Pele Traditional Geocache

Cache je ulozena u raseliniste Pele nacházejícího se nedaleko obce Stankov u hranic s Rakouskem. Raseliniste Pele (11.3 ha) lze povazovat za zraselinenou slatinu. Mokrad lezí v nive bezejmenného potoka vytékajícího z lesního komplexu. V míste dríve existoval rybník zaplavující vetsinu potocní nivy. Rybník pozdeji zanikl a dnes muzete rozpoznat zbytky jeho hraze. Lokalita zustala zamokrena a vytvoril se zde mokrad porostlý slatinnou vegetací. Na casti plochy se rozvinuly porosty raseliníku a muzete zde videt pocátecní vyvoj raseliniste probihající na mnoha místech Trebonska jiz po nekolik tisíciletí.

Cache is placed close to Pele peat bog in Stankov village vicinity. Pele bog (11.3 ha) includes a protected wetland site which can be described as a swamp that has turned to peat. The wetland is situated in the floodplain of a small brook that runs out of the forest. In the past, a fishpond here covered a large proportion of this floodplain. The fishpond later disappeared - today we can see only remnants bof its original dam. The area, however, remained waterlogged, subsequently becoming overgrown by a vegetation more characteristic of a bog. The initial stages of the development of a peat bog can be observed here. At many localities in the Trebon region peat bog development started already after the last glacial period, several thousands years ago.
