The Goleta Short Line Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Cache available 24/7, but go when the area/museums are open - Wed-Sun, 1-4pm (no admission fee but donations expected) and you too can ride the Short Line! Smallish cache, Gift shop open above hours.

This regional park has something for everyone - historic buildings, a depot, lake, butterfly trees in winter and great level hiking on wide trails, birding and biking...and a few other great caches. I have always loved trains (my dad worked for the Southern Pacific) and this cache celebrates the history and adventure of railroading.

Helpful Info: Don't try to park on the road; park in the lot just beyond the fire station.

Look at the base of a sprawling California Pepper Tree. PLEASE BE WATCHFUL if there are people around (and there probably will be on weekends). RE-HIDE WELL!
