This cache takes you to the site of the former Colwyn Bay Wireless college
The Wireless college was established in 1923 and continued until 1970. The college trained Marconi radio operators in communication techniques. This included the sending and receiving of messages using Morse code and many of its students joined the Merchant Navy. These brave men lost their lives during the Second World War. Past pupils of the college still hold regular reunions some of whom travel across the world to attend. A commemorative plaque has recently been unveiled marking the site of the College.
The College was demolished to make way for the A55 expressway and a plaque has been place at the location.
