From the top of Burnt Meadow Mt. you can see the ridge this cache is hidden on. The really hard work is over.
Cache is a 1 liter Lock 'n Lock. It is not under a rock. I have been wanting to explore this ridgeline, then last fall saw some colored ribbon marking a path in that direction. Didn't have enough water then, so delayed the trip. Be sure to bring plenty of water, especially for dog companions, Burnt Meadow Mt. is a dry hike. The new path leaves nearby the summit cache and starts with a blue ribbon, NOTE: THE NEW TRAIL IS COMPLETE, BUT DOES NOT GO TO THIS GEOCACHE. NOW WE KNOW WHERE THE TRAIL GOES! IT MAKES A LOOP OVER TOWARDS STONE MT. THEN HEADS BACK TO THE COL ON THE ORIGINAL BURNT MEADOW MT TRAIL....then switches to orange. Keep your eyes peeled. You'll go down just a bit to the col, then up to the ridgeline...then, lo and behold, the new trail goes "the wrong way"!!! Where does it go? I don't know. So, now you follow the GPS and bushwhack. But it is easy going, rather open and covered with lowbush blueberries. Wander from side to side to snatch views of Burnt Meadow Mt. and Stone Mt. When you find the cache location, don't remove the "cover", just tilt it back to reveal the cache.
