This cache is located in (or near) the Crane Pond Wildlife Management Area. The forest is pristine. You’ll be hard pressed to find a shred of trash anywhere in these woods. It’s a peaceful walk along well established trails, but maybe a bit far for small children. The cache is located about 25 ft from a minor trail, so no bush whacking is necessary. If you find you have a strong urge to leave the trails and head into the forest at any point you should resist this temptation.
There are numerous wetlands in the forest so your direction of approach is important. I considered providing my parking coordinates but decided to make you work a bit for this one. Check your topo maps to determine the best route in.
I wanted an interesting name for this cache but was stumped. As is the case with other explorers, the first finder is therefore given this privilege. Their decision won’t be questioned. No explanation is required, but something more interesting than the name of the forest please. Log the name and that’s what it shall be from that day forward. Who shall receive the honor? Fismo has the proximity advantage, but you have to get up pretty early to beat WaldenRun. Perhaps an unexpected underdog??
