Geocache Description:

Bass Harbor Light is at the southwestern corner of Mt. Desert Island. See the question below to validate your visit.

The Bass Harbor light is an often-painted lighthouse in the side of a cliff on the SW corner of Mt. Desert Island, where Acadia National Park is located. The light is on a small Coast Guard Station where no physical caches are allowed. The coordinates take you to the parking lot.

To validate your visit, find the LARGE bell at the light and read the inscription. Then email me the year the bell was cast. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWER ON THIS SITE, EVEN IN ENCRYPTED FORM. Send you email address if you want a reply.

Enjoy your visit and also follow the path from the parking lot to the left to get a view of the light from the rocks on the water.
