Geocache Description:

Permian Basin Cachers Association

Semi-Annual Adopt a Highway Clean

Welcome to the First Adopt a Highway Cleanup!

People in the Permian Basin have discussed this for awhile and we finally have enough people that say they will help so the Permian Basin Cachers Association has adopted a stretch of highway North of Midland on 349. On the sign we are putting "Permian Basin Geocachers" to include all cachers, not just the group. This is the first cleanup, and it's on the Texas Trashoff day! Should be a fun event to help keep Texas beautiful.

Safety Vests, Trashbags, and all that fun stuff is provided by the Texas Department of Transportation, I'll have an ice chest or two, maybe even three of cold cold water.

This is a highway cleanup so there will be safety rules that we will go over at the beginning of the event so try not to be late, unfortunately no children under the age of 7 are allowed to participate.

Event starts at 9 AM April 2, 2011 and goes until we are finished cleaning up. When lunch time rolls around if we are not finished we can break, go grab some food at a nearby restaurant (I was thinking Micheal's Charcoal Grill or Gatti's is nearby) and then get back to it, but hopefully we'll be done by lunch though we can still all go grab a bite when finished.

For the people who are there from beginning to end we will have a drawing, I plan to do at least two, a 1 Year Premium Membership to Geocaching.com and at least one CITO Geocoin. You need to check in with SKnight579 when you get there to be able to claim this cache and be entered in the drawing.

Please park at: N 32° 05.143 W 102° 05.559 (in our section of highway) well off the road, Car pooling is encouraged

I plan to place more caches along this 2 mile stretch before the event and all can share FTF as we come to them cleaning, if anyone else wants to place some please contact me about 2 weeks before the event so we can coordinate our efforts. Great thing about here is we need not worry about the cleaning people finding and throwing away our caches :P
