Geocache Description:


We love New Jersey which is why we started a blog about our great state. We also love geocaching. Suddenly a flash of inspiration.. A series of caches in alphabetical order in towns that start with each letter!! Ambitious yes, but equally fun!



Bloomfield is a very historical town with a couple of buildings downtown which boast of being stops on the Underground Railroad. The Green, a park also in the downtown area, used to be an area for the U.S. military to drill in preparation for the Revolutionary War.

Bloomfield borders several of Essex County's largest parks. Brookdale Park is on the northern end of town. Branch Brook Park is near the southern end of town.

We chose this little park in the middle of Bloomfield for our cache. The stream down the middle of the park is part of the old Morris Canal. Each summer, Bloomfield hosts concerts here and children play on the nice playgrounds and paths all year long.

Bring your own pen. Be careful of the kids around who may be little muggles if you look like you're having too much fun!
