Namur en Nano 4 - L'urbanisme des années 30 a aussi touché Namur (short multi)

Namur Art-Deco


C'est en 1920 que le conseil communal décide de la création de deux nouvelles rues sur les terrains des couvents des Carmélites et des Croisiers … Mais suites à des contraintes administratives, les travaux démarreront réellement au début des années 30.	In 1920 the town council decides the creation of two new streets on the grounds of the convents of the Carmelite nuns and of the "Croisiers" … But due to administrative constraints, the works really started with beginning of the 30's.
De cet aménagement naîtra un quartier Art-Déco qui tranche réellement avec le reste de la cité (cf. Pavés du Vieux Namur).	This decision will conduct to the surprizing Art Deco district which is really different from the remainder of the city (cf. Pavés du Vieux Namur).
Les monuments emblématiques en sont le Cercle de Bridge (nom connu des vieux namurois) et le cinéma Caméo.	The emblematic monuments are the "Cercle de Bridge" (old name of this building) and the Caméo cinema.

L'ancien Cercle de Bridge était situé dans un bâtiment Art Déco unique de la rue de Fer. Trouver ce bâtiment inmanquable et comptez le nombre de lucarnes sur son toit (A).	The Cercle de Bridge was situated somewhere in Rue de Fer in the only Art Deco of this street. Walk south from WP1 and find this unmisseable building. Once there, count the number of skylight in the roof (A).
Sur votre chemin, vous aurez reperé le cinema Eldorado. En face (Est), une galerie commerçante. En rentrant dedans, laissez-vous guider jusqu'à son concurrent, le Caméo, par des des générations d'adolescents amoureux ayant fait le même chemin, main dans la main, hésitant entre deux films dans chaque cinéma.
