Geocache Description:

A cache series highlighting the public art of Tacoma.

Placed in what was formerly called Sundial Park, this working sundial sculpture is the centerpiece of the newly renamed Jack Hyde Park along the Ruston Way waterfront. Jack Hyde was very briefly the mayor of Tacoma in 1994, dying suddenly only two weeks after taking office.

Both the artist and the name of this sculpture are unknown. On a reasonably sunny day the sundial tells time with a fair degree of accuracy. This is a great place to relax, soak up the sun and watch the waterfront.
