Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted co-ordinates, they were measured at a trail intersection. You will have to solve a mystery and then undertake an arduous journey into the deep forest to find this cache.

To solve this mystery requires only the ability to meditate. It will be easier if you try this in a dark and quiet room, maybe with a small lit candle to focus your attention. Stare at the candle and empty your mind of all worldly things, all of your concerns, worries and aspirations. Your success at this task depends entirely on the degree to which you are able to achieve an absolutely blank mind. If you reach the required level, time will cease to exist, seconds and indeed minutes will mean nothing. At this point you will have reached perfect inner peace. Close your eyes, concentrate and amazingly, the co-ordinates should appear in huge red numbers on the screen provide by the back of your eyelids. If they fail to appear you obviously didn’t try hard enough.

There are many ways to get to the cache; fewer in winter, but winter may be the best time to go. All of the routes will require a hike in excess of 9 kms (total return distance) with some steep but short elevation changes. You will have to engage in a couple of kms of bushwacking, no way around it. I found the new Google Earth photo of the area used in conjuntion with trail maps to be very helpful for route planning. I parked at WP001 on the edge of Hwy 68 and used the Lusk Pass Trail. You might want to park in the Lusk Creek PRA or at the nearby access to Stoney Creek PRA (don’t block the gate). I used my Denali snowshoes (no extensions) and found them to be quite extraordinary in the rapidly varying terrain; packed snow, ice, bare ground, climbing over/under wind fall, steep mossy hills (up & down) and deep soft snow. Be assured that you will be proficient in their use by the time you get back!

The cache is a custom creation, it is winter friendly once more, I located it and sawed off the bottom 6 feet of tree and stood it up inside the log teepee. I added some finder's cards so it is ready to go.

Some people think these places have mysterious powers, so be ready for anything (except views)!
