Dan and his colleagues from the Smithsonian Institution in D.C. come to NM regularly to study the Permian basin. They put on an awesome "The Doctor is Out" event in Socorro some time back, and took us out on a hike to see what they were studying. It was fascinating! Educational, interesting, and fun.
They are returning, this time to the Alamogordo area, and are planning a "Doctor is Out" there on April 18. Before the others arrive in NM, we have Dan all to ourselves for an evening.
