Geocache Description:

Meet at 11am for a short bike ride on the Scott Pierson Trail in Tacoma across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and back.  No toll required!

It's been a year! Lucky number 7 in a series of bike rides along the many mostly flat, mostly paved biking/walking trails in the Seattle area. We will go to Tacoma to cross the Narrows on a widely admired biking/walking path. We'll ride the entire length of the Scott Pierson Trail, starting at the eastern terminus (posted coordinates) around 6.5 miles to its other end just across the Tacoma Narrows (and then turn around and ride back, of course). The trail is mostly flat and completely car-free (with a short stretch on city streets). Route map is here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6435533

Bring a lunch or snack; hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can have a bite at the turnaround point. (There is no food at the turnaround point that I know of, although there are grocery stores along the way).

Speaking of the weather, I will only cancel this event if the weather is terrible:  heavy rain, lightning/thunder, snow or ice.  Bring a waterproof layer if it might rain.

The posted coordinates are for the entrance to the trail on S 25th St., west of S Sprague Ave.  There is plenty of on-street parking in this residential neighborhood.  Try to be there a little early so we can rally the forces.  Check your brakes and air beforehand.

Participants in this event hold harmless the cache owner/event organizer and assume all risks and responsibilties involved in riding a bicycle on trails and streets. Wear a helmet, dress in layers, and bring a spare tube.

If you have any suggestions/requests for future trails to ride on, feel free to mention them in your log.
