This Flash Mob gathering of geocachers will be only 15 minutes
long. You MUST be present and sign the log sheet
DURING this time to claim this event. After 15 minutes…we're
gone!
This event is be one small part of the WWFM III (World Wide
Flash Mob event) coordinated and in conjunction with the San Diego
WWFM III hosted by iTrax and FoxTail but as Australia is some 17
hours ahead of Pacific Summer Time rather than holding our event
simultaneously with the US event at 0300 on Sunday morning this
event is at a much more user friendly time
AGENDA
Participants casually position themselves at various locations
around the Fed Square / Flinders Street Station precinct within
sight of but not at GZ
0958 - 1000
Casually make your way towards GZ but as much as you can, act
like a muggle, pretend not to know each other or give any
indication that something is about to happen but STAY AWAY
from ground zero until your GPSr clock tells you it's 1000
EXACTLY
1000
Everyone arrives at GZ. Facitman & Rhinogeo will be there
with an Ammo Box. As you arrive, you will be handed a log sheet.
Participants will sign the log sheets (which will later become the
log book). To qualify for attendance, drop the completed logsheet
back in the Ammo Box
Mingle. Share stories. Compare this event to WWFM II held at
4:00 am on Remembrance Day. But be quick - there is not much
time!
1007 - 1010
Participants assemble on the paved area in front of the Big
Screen for a group photo and with luck the opportunity to take a
photo of themselves on the screen (to enable the logging of a find
for the FedCam WebCam cache)
1010 - 1013
A logsheet will be drawn from the Ammo Box to award FTF honours
to one of the participants
1014
One minute warning announced - Prepare to leave
1015 EXACTLY
IMMEDIATELY LEAVE the area. The event area will be
evacuated without a trace. The log ammo box will be packed up. If
you didn't get to it in time you can't log the event. Only those
participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log this
event
If everything goes right we will have had people coming out of
nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event
and then disappearing
This could raise a few muggle eyebrows!
For the Flash Mob to have its full effect, it must appear to
come from nowhere and disappear just as quickly
