Pack 242, Den 5 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Freeflying: I am archiving this cache. Unfortunately, it gets flooded out about once a year--and the cub scout den that placed it have all moved on to become boy scouts! Thanks to all that hunted this cache. Happy hunting!

Geocache Description:

Located in Clive Greenbelt Park. 1/4 mile hike. Paved trails to within 50 feet of the cache.

Park at N41 36.601 W93 45.710. Or, for a little driving adventure, there is a trail entrance to the park that is closer to the cache, located in a residential neighborhood almost due south of the cache--we'll make you find that one without coordinates! Just southeast of the cache on the trail is a bridge over a stream that offers a pretty view--you'll cross this bridge getting to the cache if you park in the residential neighborhood. Also, on the other side of the street from the residential entrance to the park is an entrance to an attractive, tucked away, urban park with a playset for the kids--check it out. However, for a pleasant walk, park at the suggested coordinates and then, after finding the cache, cross the bridge, go out the residential entrance, and visit the urban park across the street. This cache was hidden by the Cub Scouts of Den 5, Pack 242, Raccoon River District, Mid-Iowa Council. The cache originally contained the following: a logbook and pencil, a small sombrero, a New Orleans doll, a mirror, keychains, a golfball, electronic voice recorder, and miscellaneous toys.

11-20-05: Replaced container with ammo box and placed a new logbook.
