Der Naturpark
Eichenhain umfasst den Wienerwaldanteil zwischen Klosterneuburg
und St. Andrä-Wördern. 3.500 ha Eichen- und Buchenwälder mit
eingestreuten Wiesen sind durch 60 km Wanderwege erschlossen. Zum
Mountainbiken ist das Gelände ideal, nicht umsonst gibt es hier
einige offizielle MTB-Strecken.
Deswegen kombiniert man die Suche am besten mit einer MTB-Tour,
welche im Wesentlichen der offiziellen
Babenberger-Strecke entspricht (ca. 20km / 410 Hm). Die
folgende Beschreibung folgt dieser Runde. Natürlich kann man den
Cache auch zu Fuß und von
anderen Startpunkten aus angehen.
The natural preserve Eichenhain (oak
grove) covers an area of 3.500 ha of the Vienna Woods between
Klosterneuburg and St. Andrä-Wördern. The terrain is ideal for
mountainbiking, and there are some official MTB-trails. Therefore
you should combine the cache-hunt with a MTB-tour, which follows
the Babenberger-trail (approx. 20km / 410 Hm). The cache
description follows the trail. Of course the cache can also be
approached by foot and from other starting points.
Startpunkt
Der Ausgangspunkt der MTB-Strecke befindet sich bei N 48°
17.840' und E 016° 20.080', dem Bahnhof
Klosterneuburg-Weidling. Folge von hier der Strasse ins
Weidlingbachtal entlang des rechten Bachufers auf einem
Fuß-/Radweg. Bei der Kirche in Weidling nimm die linke Abzweigung
und folge der Strasse bis zu N 48° 17.380' und E 016°
18.435', wo eine Abzweigung nach rechts führt. Folge nun der
Managettagasse, welche bald in eine Forststrasse mündet, die über
den Kammersberg bis zur Windischhütte führt. Eine kürzere
Alternativroute stellt jene durch den Rotgraben dar. Um zu Stage 1
zu gelangen nimmt man bei N 48° 17.000' und E 016°
14.300' die Abzweigung nach Norden. Davor lohnt sich aber
vielleicht ein kurzer Abstecher zur nahe gelegenen Windischalm bei
N 48° 16.940' und E 016° 13.680', um Kraft für die
folgenden Aufgaben zu tanken.
Starting point
The starting point of the MTB-trail is at
N 48° 17.840' and E 016° 20.080', the railway station
Klosterneuburg-Weidling. From here follow the road into the
Weidlingbachtal along the right side of the stream. When you reach
the curch of Weidling take the road to the left and follow it to
N 48° 17.380' and E 016° 18.435'. A turnoff to the
right (Managettagasse) ends in a forest road which leads to the
Windischalm. A shorter alternative route goes via the Rotgraben. To
get to stage 1 turn north at the crossing at N 48° 17.000'
and E 016° 14.300'. Before this you would maybe like to
refresh yourself at the nearby Windischalm at N 48° 16.940'
und E 016° 13.680'
