This is the third installment in the Event T(er)raining series that is helping you get those high Ts while meeting with your caching friends. Similar to the last one, this one also has a water component. You have to cross the Blue River. Or at least I think you'll want to cross it!

Event time: 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM - I'll arrive at 7:10 AM with a ladder and rope to tie it in place.

There are only two rules for this event:
1. You must reach the posted coordinates which are at a gravel bar on the west side of the Blue River
2. You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT and are PROHIBITED from crossing and/or walking along the railroad property to the west of GZ. This is:
         a) Illegal
         b) Dangerous
         c) Against the spirit of the event

I visited all sides of this location on 6/15/18 and you really can't get there from the north (e.g., crossing the old Red Bridge by foot and turning south - the land gets pinched off between the river and the railroad). You *might* be able to get to GZ by approaching from the end of the trail to the south, but that's a long hike and as I got close, the trail dead-ends into to the railroad property just as the terrain gets really steep and rough. You might be able to make it to GZ this way, but the terrain is really difficult and steep and brushy. If you choose to bushwhack that, more power to you; you'll earn your stars.
*REMEMBER: you cannot walk along the railroad property, which includes the gravel covered "shoulder" of the railway.*

The recommended way to reach the event is your choice of three:
         1. Cross a rounded pipe that spans the river and then climb a provided ladder up a bluff
         2. Kayak/canoe/float to the location
         3. Swim across the river

There is some bushwhacking involved with the first option and I'd recommend long pants and bug spray. There is a well beaten and clear path from parking to the crossing spot on the east side of the river.

SAFETY FIRST
If conditions on the day of the event are not favorable, a nearby alternate location will be indicated via an announcement. Please indicate if you will attend by posting a "will attend" log so you will get any important announcements about the event.
