Where
Emerson Park, Midland Michigan
Located in the heart of downtown Midland, Emerson Park provides recreation for people of all ages.  The Park, which runs alongside both the Pere-Marquette rail-trail and the Tittabawassee river, contains a variety of activities for public use. It adjoins Chippawassee Park - home of the Tridge. Midland's "Tridge" is a three-legged pedestrian footbridge spanning The Forks, the confluence of the Tittabawassee and Chippewa rivers. The waters flowing to this spot have carried the birch bark canoes of Native Americans, steam boats from Saginaw and billions of board-feet of white pine logs. Each leg of The Tridge spans 180 feet linking recreational areas with the downtown area. Near the park is Trilogy outdoor rollerblading rink, which is often used for roller hockey. The rink is usually well lit until 10 p.m. Besides the rink, the park offers a playground with slides, swings, and horseshoes.
