An off road trip for 4x4’s the obvious start to the route is usually ignored by those aiming for other objectives. Start your journey at N24.55.206 E46.11.088. Following the initial gradual ascent the route is relatively flat skimming beautiful wadi edges both to your left and right, occasionally dead ahead! – take the time to stop as each appears as the views are quite spectacular and you may wish to descend into one or two – without the vehicles!
There are many spurs leading around multiple wadi areas turning the whole area into a vast maze – please ensure that you waypoint your way in thoroughly as the visual appearance of the area will have altered as you leave and getting onto a dead-end spur is easy if your waypoints are not followed.
As the objective of this cache is the navigational exercise to find a way through the maze you can drive right to the cache area and, in lieu of the almost traditional scramble, there are excellent walks out across some of the promontories – make sure you bring your camera.
We have reduced the rating from a 5 (caused by the 4x4 requirement) to a more reasonable 2 for terrain as
the cache is in a safe hunting area for the younger generation who may well find it more quickly than adults.
