John and I were out exploring. John couldn't believe how low the
water levels were in the Lahontan Reservoir. We climbed up here for
a better view. We were so sad to see a limping wild horse amongst
the cows grazing on the empty reservoir, but there was nothing we
could do.
Please post pictures if you come when there is more water in the
reservoir.
Cache is an ammo can with swag and FTF $. You should be able to
park about .15 from it on Lahontan Dam Road (as it's called by our
mapping software..it may be called Lahontan State Rec Road on some
) It's a fun ride out here..the road is dirt but a 2WD should be ok
with high clearance as you get close.

Went with fshnski. A little bit of a hike from the lake by boat but enjoyed the outing.

Another find today with tahoejen and family. Beached boat and hiked in about .4 miles for a nice little find. Coords. were right on. Lots of goodies. Took bungie, left scarecrow pin. Sure felt good to play in the water after the warm hike. TFTC

Had a spectacular day out caching with Bookmarked, NevadaWolf, Bonez , and Kindergeek. Spent the afternoon caching our way around the lake. A few "adjustments" (never a wrong turn  ) we got to this cache just minutes before sunset. A great location and view end a great day!! I look forward to seeing the lake when it has more water in it.

Enjoying caching out in this beautiful state with b0neZ, kindergeek, Puzzleman, and Bookmarked!As we pulled up after navigating nearly every road around here, several flocks of birds took off from the river, making a spectacular sunset experience! Hiked (well, two hiked, this turtle did her usual two steps forward, huff-puff routine) Got to the cache site, took plenty of pictures and enjoyed the final cache of a truly awesome day with some really good friends!
