1963 Road to Nowhere Traditional Cache
Wienerdog: I think it's time to archive this. We love the idea and location but with occasional "homeless" people hanging around it makes cachers uncomfortable and so it doesn't seem like a good place anymore.

An ideal place to park can be found at N47 38.512 W122 17.883. Once you are there find the 1963 Bridge to nowhere and begin your search. This is a micro-cache and contains a log only. Please bring a writing instrument to record your find.
THERE IS NO NEED TO TRESSPASS on the road to find the cache.

We enjoy places like steps, bridges and roads that go nowhere. For many years as I traveled over to the eastside on Hwy 520 there was an on ramp that always caught my attention. It looked as if it was built with a purpose in mind and then abandoned half way to nowhere! It is actually what was to have been the R.H. Thompson expressway and construction was started during the Freeway Mania years in Seattle. Fortunately public outcry stopped this project. Had it been completed the Arboretum and much of the west side of Lake Washington would have been paved over in cement. Enjoy the park while you are there.
PLEASE NOTE!!!! THERE IS NO NEED TO GO UNDER THE "BAD PART" OF THE BRIDGE TO FIND THIS!!!! YOU CAN EITHER GO AROUND TO THE BEGINNING OF THE ROAD OR HEAD DOWN TOWARDS THE WATER FROM THE PARKING LOT, PASS UNDER THE BRIDGE ON THE PATH, THEN UP ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WALKING IN THE GRASS.
