Geocache Description:

The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.

This is a 3rd generation dairy farm, originally purchased by Charles Riemer in 1918. In 1933, a tornado slid the barn off the foundation. Carpenters jacked it up and put it back into position. The farmhouse was a Sears and Roebuck catalog home. Within a 4 mile radius, there are currently 5 additional barn quilts as of August 2010. There are two quilts on this barn, one on the north side and this one is on the south side. The family jokes that this is the girl side, softer colors, the north side is for the boys. This Barn Quilt is called I’ll Take Hither.
