Geocache Description:

En commençant par la fin!

Normalement une multi cache se résume à passer d’un point A (le départ) vers un point B (la cache) en se faisant aider par un (des) point(s) intermédiaire(s). Cette fois-ci, le trajet se fera dans le sens inverse. Je vous conseille d’apporter une calculatrice ou un crayon et du papier car il y a quelques calculs à faire. En passant, les WP utilisés sont en minutes suivi de trois décimales.

Le WP3 (celui indiqué en haut de la page) se trouve en bordure d’une piste cyclable. À partir de cet endroit, vous serez en mesure de repérer facilement la cache car elle n’est pas camouflée. (INDICE 1) Pour vous y rendre vous pouvez emprunter un escalier se trouvant à gauche ou encore descendre la rue. Faites attention en traversant la rue!

La cache partage deux adresses civiques. Pour obtenir les coordonnées du WP2, additionnez la plus petite de ces adresses à la portion décimale de la latitude du WP3 (N45.29.ici). Pour ce qui est de l’adresse la plus grande, divisez-là par 10 et additionnez-là à la portion décimale de la longitude.

Rendu au WP2 vous vous trouverez devant l’ancienne maison des Bougon, car elle n’a que deux portes mais six adresses. C’est là que les calculs se corsent. Additionnez les trois adresses de la porte de droite et divisez cette somme par 9. Soustrayez ce résultat à la portion décimale des minutes de la latitude du WP2 et vous avez maintenant la latitude du WP1. Reprenez la somme des trois adresses de la porte de droite et soustrayez-y la somme des trois adresses de la porte de gauche. Multipliez la différence par 1.5 et soustrayez le produit final à la portion décimale des minutes de la longitude. Ouf !!! Vous avez enfin la longitude du WP1.

Vous voilà maintenant tout près du Point A. En fait, il se trouve à moins de 5 mètres du WP1. (INDICE 2). N’oubliez pas de signer le « log book », il se trouve à environ 10 mètres du point A dans la direction du WP2 au bas du mur.

Starting with the end!

Normally a multi cache consists of going from point A (the departure) towards point B (the cache) with the help of another or many other points in between A & B. This time, we will do that route in the opposite way. I suggest you to bring a calculator or a pencil and paper because you will have some math to do along the way. You should note that all waypoints used are in minutes followed by 3 decimals.

WP3 (GCKV6H) is just beside a bike path. From that location, you can easily spot the cache, as it is not camouflaged. (HINT 1) To go there you can use the stairs on your left or just go down the street. Be careful while crossing the street!

The cache shares two civic addresses. Coordinates for WP2 are found by adding the smaller of these addresses to the decimal portion of the latitude of WP3 (N45.29.here). For the bigger address, divide it by 10 and add the result to the decimal portion of the longitude.

Arrived to WP2 you facing a building with only two doors but six addresses. Calculations are now getting more serious. Add together the three addresses of the door on your right and divide the sum by 9. Subtract the result from the decimal portion of the latitude of WP2 and you get latitude for WP1. Again, use the sum of the three addresses of the door on your right and subtract the sum of the three addresses of the door on your left. Multiply that difference by 1.5 and subtract this result from the decimal portion of the longitude. You now have the longitude of WP1.

You are now pretty close of point A. In fact, it’s within 5 meters from WP1. (HINT 2). Don’t forget to sign the logbook, it’s located approximately 10 meters from point A in the direction of WP2 at the bottom of the wall.
