The cache is located a short distance from the Froehlich trail of the North Hills trail system in Missoula's open spaces. The trail leads up over the ridge towards the Randolph-Moon homestead. The hike to the cache may be combined with the Ridge Trail or Cherry Gulch trail to pick up several other caches in the vicinity.
I planned to take a hike up the trail and checked the map to see if there were any recent caches and noted a void on the western edge of the open space. Nature abhors a vacuum so... The cache is a Bison container, so bring your own pen. Please replace the cache as you found it with its discrete covering of debris. It's well off the ground so it should afford an all season caching opportunity.
