How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

In 1982 a meteor the size of a tennis ball hit Gauteng, leaving a crater that is not well known to the general public. Different in structure to the Vredefort Dome and the Tswaing Crater north of Pretoria, this space object created a much deeper cavity in relation to its arsemptic perimeter.

Prof Tokin Nawnsins from the Geocosmological Society of South Africa confirms that they have investigated certain conspiracy theories that claim extra-terrestrial activity at this site, but nothing conclusive has been proven yet. This is despite evidence found at the site in line with the North American crop circles phenomena.

VERY IMPORTANT AND SERIOUS NOW: Do not attempt this cache entering from the top, it is too dangerous! Use the entrance at S 25° 55.905 E 028° 12.855 and be extremely cautious – do not attempt alone. We have never experienced trouble visiting here, but it is a remote spot and anything can happen. THIS IS NOT A CHILD-FRIENDLY OR FAMILY PLACE. Access best obtained by mountain bike, motor bike or bakkie (4x4 should not be needed)
