Round Prairie Cemetery is located in section 17, Yellow Spring Township, approx. 5 miles northeast of Mediapolis. This cemetery has many broken headstones and many unmarked graves. This location is especially rare for Iowa, because it is the final resting place of a Revolutionary War Soldier.
The last mile to this cemetery consists of low maintenance dirt roads and large rocks, so travel carefully. This cache was placed in mid-july dry season; mid-afternoon in the family mini-van. This last mile of county road will not be passable if muddy, rainy, snowy, etc. Know your vehicle's limits and park & walk if needed. The road has great scenery of farm fields, pastures and wooded areas, and gives the sense you are far from anywhere.
