#6 Bridges of Fairfield County - Johnston Bridge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LEGO: I am archiving this one because:

1) The container keeps getting muggled.
2) The bridge and surrounding area are always littered with beer bottles & other trash.
3) Folks keep signing the letter box and thinking they found the cache.

Maybe someone else can have better luck with this site. Thanks to Coaster for creating this cache, and to all who found it over the years.

Geocache Description:

This series of caches will take you around Fairfield county to visit it's many covered bridges. There are more bridges than are on the tour however some of them are not publicly accessible. Please be respectful of the areas and try to avoid being noticed while retrieving the cache. These are all micros but I've tried to make them easy finds but somewhat muggle resistant.

The Johnston Covered Bridge was built in 1887. The 92' long bridge crosses Clear Creek. The construction methond of this bridge is called Howe truss style. This bridge is a rarity since it was restored in 1996 in it's origional location and not moved.

To find this cache you'll have to cross the bridge. There is no need to go under it hunting for trolls though. As you cross the bridge the cache will be on your right. The hint is a dead giveaway...
