Located off the Weeks Mills Road adjacent to the inlet stream to 3
Mile Pond. This cache is no longer a "coin Swap" cache. I have
learned that such a cache could be "jail" for a coin or TB.
Clorinda was Robin Hood's other "girlfriend." Maid Marian, well
better known, was not really Robin's favorite. He actually
preferred Clorinda who was known as the "Queen of Shepherdesses."
(That's what the internet provided, what follows is the product of
my fertile imagination. Clorinda's father was a bartender at a
"biker" bar just outside Sherwood Forest. At an early age she did
archery tricks for the boys, often times for beer or mead. She had
a thing for men in tights so when Robin Hood (Robie, as she called
him) came by one day for a few pops with his gang of merry men, she
challenged him to a "few arrows out back." Robin Hood thought this
was a rough come-on for a date until he saw her longbow and knew
she wanted to launch an arrow or two. This is when the trouble
started. Clorinda was not a priss like Maid Marian. She's tagged
out on deer and elk opening day ever since she was 12 years old.
Deer and elk are much faster then the usual hooldlums Robin faced
and Robin was quickly dethroned as the best shot in Sherwood
Forest. Rather then to return to the humiliation of his merry men,
robin went to the new Cabela's store and bought a cross bow with a
4' by 8' scope. Soon he was shooting "same hole" at 200 yards and
ready to return to clorinda's pub. Upon his return to her pub he
was shocked to learn she had joined PETA and had "laid down my bow"
and become a vegetarian. In spite of an attempted exorcism by Friar
Tuck, she would not take up Robin Hood's challenge for a grudge
match. Robin Hood begrudingly returned to the forest and back to
Maid Marian who had sensed his recent distractions. When asked
about his recent "business trip" Robin remarked " I went to the
mall to test drive a new bow. It didn't shoot straight, couldn't be
adjusted and didn't fit me well." Thereafter, Robin and Maid Marian
lived happily ever after and Clorinda moved into the parrish as
Friar Tuck's housekeeper. Update (September 22, 2008) When I
submitted this cache I thought making it a coin swap cache was a
good idea. Having read a lot of comments on the GM page, I have
come to the conclusion that coin swap caches are not a very good
idea as a coin may end up "stuck" or jailed in a cache.
Interestingly, the swap concept has worked well in this cache, but
winter is coming and I don't want to see anybody's coins stuck in
one of my caches so help yourself to any geo coins or TB's that you
find! Congratulations to mapachi for FTC!!! (How'd you like them
Blackflies, Patrick?)
