Yet another cache in the "Musically Yours" series. This one is meant to "take you back." But not to the time of polyester bell-bottoms, platform shoes or John Travolta pointing his finger into the air. This cache is meant to take you back into one of the most beautiful areas of northern Calvert County.

This cache is only accessible by water. When I placed the cache I put my kayak into the water at the public boat ramp located adjacent to the water park in Chesapeake Beach. There is a small fee, but in my humble opinion it is well worth it. While placing this cache, I was awarded the opportunity to see several different species of waterfowl. I even saw two different bald eagles, so bring binoculars and maybe a camera. Take your time as you meander up Fishing Creek.

You are looking for a small blue water-tight container that contains a log and geocaching note. If fact there are two logs in the cache. One is a regular paper logbook that can be used but in case the contents get wet there is a laminated card inside the container and a writing utensil that can be used as well.

Specific Notes about this cache:
The terrain rating for this cache is not a joke by any means.
1. From the marina in Chesapeake Beach it is just a little over a one mile paddle. Check the weather before you leave, making sure that you have plenty of time.

2. While paddling Fishing Creek I did notice a couple of different hunter's blinds, so please check the various waterfowl hunting seasons before seeking this cache.

3. Also check the tides before approaching this cache. If you go for this cache at low tide, like when I placed it, you will probably end up having to wade a couple hundred feet in very thick mud. see picture

4. IF you do decide to visit this cache at a lower tide and have to wade in - please wear thick-soled shoes that lace up. And tie them tightly! And remember when marsh-mucking keep you feet moving to avoid sinking in too deep. see picture

5. And like you should whenever you go out geocaching - let someone know where you are going, when you are getting on the water and when you have returned safely. Remember this is just a game!

Big Congrats to TurtleCreek for his First to Find during his lunch break!

Check the tides.

I tried a couple of different areas before I finally decided on where to place the cache. I even ended up losing a pair of sandals while marsh-mucking. WEAR shoes that lace up!

Very nice approach! The lady and I enjoyed a nice tandem kayak in to the site and made an easy find and retrieval thanks to the high tide. Too bad the cache wasn't in a larger container so I could drop off some bugs. Maybe in the future? TFTC!

Out with redlights because he wanted to check the cache. We put in at the marina, and paddled the mile or so to the hide. Saw a bald eagle flying as we neared the site. Luckily the water was high enough it did not require leaving the kayak to make the grab. Then seeing the approaching thunderstorm we turned and high tailed it to the nearest safe haven. Luckily the man with the Polynesian pier is a co-worker. We made port and walked up to the house. He then gave us a ride back to pick up the car. Aside from a wet backside, it was a very nice trip. Redlights, thanks for allowing me to accompany you on the trek.

It has been quite some time since someone found this one. It was one of several local boat caches that we hope to get this summer. It was still there and we had a ball getting to it.

We took the advice and four of us headed out just before high tide to get this one. The recommendation to use the marina was a good one (we had thoughts at one point to put in at Brownies and make our way around). The weather was fantastic. I realized quickly that the 1 mile quoted in one of the logs was by way of the crow (I didn't let the kids know until we were back and we were headed to the local candy shop.). The total distance we paddled was 3.25 miles according to the GPS, and was worth every bit of effort we put into it. The wind was strong on the way to the cache, and died down a bit on the return (but was strong enough to keep the bugs away).

We saw quite a few geese and ducks on the way, and as I stepped out of the boat to retrieve some drinks from the cooler, a little brown critter slithered into the water.

Quite a few nice piers and homes on the upper reach of the creek. We especially enjoyed the pier with the Polynesian motif.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cache. Lots of boaters out, and they were respectful of those of us in small crafts. Although we have kayaked in this area on several occasions, we would not have gone up this creek if there was not a cache at the end. Took a TB, and left another. Thanks for the cache!

Since I was at the area and thought I would drop off a coin to maybe entice a few more people to come out.

Wow this was fun. We met up with the CO and hitched a ride with him and Mrs. SeeKPeeKRs. We arrived to the launching point just about 5:30 just the time we wanted to be to watch the sunset. We rowed the kayaks about the 30 minutes it took to get to the cache. The views were awesome. And the birds that we saw were great. This was an fun cache to do with friends. And glad the owner let us use his kayak to find his own cache. Once we arrived at GZ, We used something nearby to get the cache and Jo made the way to GZ and grabbed the cache. And then we made our way back to the launching point at about 7 oclock. Again thanks Redlights for the use of the Kayak and a fun cache.
