Geocache Description:

The cache is located on a 45 acre island in the St. Johns River. The island is home to a small herd of goats. We canoed about 1.5 miles from the Lions Club park on University Blvd. There was a group of about 20 dolphins that keep us company on the way back.

This was posted by the original owners tonyiws, Tyler, and Alexis and still applies, this is a new cache however and anyone logging finds earlier is welcome to find/log it again.

The coordinates will lead you to a micro containing the coordinates for the actual cache, it is a well stocked large peanut jar with something for everyone and a nice goody for the first to find. Please trade up and replace camo.

The terrain is rated 5 because you need a boat to get to the island. Once on the island a terrain rating of 2 would be more appropriate.

If your vessel is larger than a kayak or canoe and you can't pull it out of the water I suggest making landfall on the south side of the island. The wakes from tugs and transport vessels can be brutal on the north (channel) side. Most of the island is clean beach at low tide (recommended) except the west point, it's rocky.

To the south of the island is Reddie Point Preserve You can tie up to the floating docks and utilize the restrooms and shelters. Some more smileys to be had there too! Floating docks are shallow at low tide.

I hope you have a good time with this one, it's not uncommon to see porpoise, manatees, tarpon, osprey, tarpon- did I say tarpon? Lots of people beach their boats on the east end and relax/play on the beach.

This one could be a height challenge for some.
