Geocache Description:

Sinking Spring Skating Rink

My wife and I grew up in the Berks County and have very fond memories of extinct sites around the county. This is the fourth in a series of traditional caches that might bring back fond memories of long gone sites around our county. Many of us have passed these locations from the past with little regard to the lost local commercial history.

I remember spending Friday and Saturday evenings skating around the tiny inner rink because I wasn’t fast enough to survive the outer wooden speed zone. It always seemed like a dark barn, which was good if you were on a date.

This location met its demise when snow caved in its roof. It was never rebuilt and now serves as a picnic grove and Shocktoberfest. Beware the muggle activity depending on the season.

Initials only please as the log will fill quickly otherwise.
