Second in our Creeks of Davenport series. Deere Creek
Judging by spelling, this creek is named after the farm implement manufacturer, rather than the animal. However, you wouldn't guess that when visiting this location. Deer trails are everywhere here. Clearly, deer use this creek corridor and the fairly large wooded area between here and the cemetary extensively.
You have a slope to deal with on the way in to this one. Overgrowth will probably become a bit tricky in summer time, too. We hid this in early spring, and the going was not that difficult.
One additional note: I believe homeless folks may camp out in this woods at times. We happened upon a tarp strung up in trees while exploring a little bit.
