Geocache Description:

A geocacher's delight: friendly people, warm food and caches nearby. Please bring a thing or three to give away in caches or as other geocaching-related freestanding prizes.

Happy New Year! Yep, 2008. You've resolved to exercise more, spend more time with family, get more focused at work, more organized at home. You've promised your mom you'd call and write. You've sworn to be a better parent this year. Maybe you've opted to set aside this geocaching craze for awhile to achieve all those goals. Maybe you've resolved to find every cache on your map and start 2009 with a completely blank slate.

Well, friends are here to help you, encourage you and, well, distract you from all those "SHOULDS" and "WOULDS" and get you back on the playing field!

On Friday, Jan. 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., put aside all those obligations to revisit this activity/hobby/sport/obsession we call fun, entertaining, maddening, frustrating, enjoyable, maybe even exciting. Bring friends and family, first-timers and old-timers, cash for pizza and beverages (they have salad, too, but if you're going to fall off the diet wagon in January, why not do it whole hog?) and, of course, your GPSr. Let's talk about your favorite relatively local caches (within three counties would be nice), the ones that have stumped you and the ones that have left you giggling on the caching trail as passersby wondered just what the crazy person was laughing about.

Is there a local find you'd like to do, but need some camaraderie to complete? Hiking buddy? Someone taller to reach that unreachable hide? Bring along ideas for those, too, and we'll try to schedule our next group outing.

This is a fee-free event of the Poison Oak Cachers . Members and non-members welcome, new members encouraged, curious onlookers applauded. Come one, come all!

Cache Owner's Note:HOLY COW! This is turning into a MAJOR event! GREAT! Look at all those TBs and Coins n' stuff! We'll be giving away caches (to hide, of course) and other goodies. Please consider donating items for inclusion in the caches containers provided or donating other prize items for the raffle. THANKS!
