Geocache Description:

A jurrasic lark!

This cache is a bit of an adventure! To log this cache you have to find and photograph the Dinosaur footprints at this location with your GPS in the photo.

The cache location is on a beach about 1 mile from Scarborough's North Bay tourist beach, however, the chances are that you will not meet another person on this beach during your entire adventure.

Access to the location is a little difficult and is not suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs, disabled persons or, indeed, the faint of heart. Children will love it! There is a walk of around 1.25 miles from the nearest parking. The walking will be difficult and trecherous in bad or wet weather.

Please check the tides before setting out. Tide times can be found here.

The nearest free on street parking is at N54 18.077 W0 24.800 or if you wish to pay to save a few yards legwork you can park outside the Sea Life Centre.

Head towards and cross the footbridge at N54 18.168 W0 24.588 continue up the bank at the other side and follow the sign for the Cleveland Way. Follow the main footpath up and along to N54 18.358 W0 24.802. At this point follow the narrow track/path directly down the cliff towards the concrete sewer pipe. Now proceed directly to the cache location.

You are looking for a series of about six footprints in the stone, each footprint is around 1 metre from the next. They are not clearly defined as they have been eroded by the sea, and you may struggle to see them. However, once you have located one, the others will become obvious. The footprints have three forward facing claws and a smaller back claw. Checkout the photos before setting off.

There are also other dinosaur footprints around this area.
