This years Cache In Trash Out (CITO) is at Moose
Creek Reservoir. The above coordinates are located next to the sign
at the dam. At the moment there is 6 - 8 inches of snow. By the
time for the CITO, we should have no problems with snow. We will
meet at 10 a.m. We'll start with a brief pep talk (intro's, etc),
then proceed with the cleanup and finally, the BBQ.
CITO stands for Cache In Trash Out. This is
an International Event coinciding with Earth Day. Local cachers
from different areas meet at a local spot and clean up the area.
This usually happens the third Saturday in April (Earth Day). You
can check out the CITO website at:
http://www.cacheintrashout.org.
A location is chosen that is in need of
"cleaning". This year it is Moose Creek Reservoir. We meet there
and pick up the trash. As the clean-up winds down, the BBQ starts
up.
For the BBQ Potluck, bring along what you
want to throw on the grill, something for the potluck, a few extra
chairs, and if a couple of extra grills could show up ~~ that would
be wonderful.
We will be having prizes in a variety of
categories. Some of those categories include:
1) Trash Award: Most garbage
collected.
2) White GPS Award: Most unique item collected.
3) Funky Find Award: Most unique item spotted. (Last year
at Spring Valley Reservoir, a couple of cachers found some
headstones.)
4) Big Gun Award: cacher who finds largest single item of
trash from area.
5) Determined Cacher Award: cacher who picks up trash the
longest.
There will also be door prizes throught the event.
The donations that we have, as of 03/22/06
(that I know about) are:
1. A box of about 15 flies (fly fishing flies)
2. A Creative Memories Gift Certificate

Valley it was a bit chilly.

**There has been a challenge set by a cacher
named Eartha in the Geocaching forums. Check out the pictures at
this LINK.
I think that the cachers in this area can live up to the
challenge!**
