*** WSGA's February, 2009, Hike of the Month ***
A rewarding 7 mile (roundtrip) trek near Snoqualmie Pass.
No bushwhacking is required for this cache.
Exit 54 off I-90, go North. Park on right before crossing the bridge. A Northwest Forest Pass, or Snow park Pass is required for parking.
Hike up the road about 3 miles to the trail head, making the entire hike 7 miles. Yes, the trail is still there and in fairly good condition, as of August, 2010.
The road is rocky and a bit steep, turning upward onto the trail and becoming nearly vertical at points and leveling off near the top. Many trees are down over a short section of the trail due to wind, but quite passable by all varmints and most humans. We placed the cache in October; it may be wetter in Spring, but the cache should remain dry.
The cache is an old Ford which has been melted down and turned into a small green canister used by the military to transport munitions and contains various odds and evens designed to stimulate the mind.
