A small cache within arm's reach of the walkway.

This cache is the first one placed in a series on the Vancouver dairies.

This cache brings you to a location near the only currently operating dairy in the City of Vancouver which has been in continuous operation since 1906 when Jeremiah Crowley came from the Avalon peninsula area of Newfoundland with his family and purchased a house with six cows included on the property. This led him to develop a dairy in the vicinity. His family still carry on the tradition and continue to be involved in the dairy operation. His son, Everett, who was a Vancouver alderman and park commissioner has a park in the southeast corner of Vancouver named after him.

The art nearby was placed in this location in 2005 to honour the dairy's centenary and is called "'Til the cows come home" by Douglas Senft who has done other local pieces placed in public areas. You can see more of his artwork and information about the dairy by walking about 100 metres east along the public pathway.

This is a greenway maintained by the locals in the neighbourhood. Please be careful of the plantings.

October 5, 2009 I was warned today that the cache was exposed due to landscaping cleanup and have moved it to a more hidden spot still in the same area, only about 3 metres from its original location.

It was a dark and stormy night... but we still spotted the baby! Well okay, it was already spotted when we got there. Left the wooden Bon Mot Maple Leaf we picked up on Bowen Island, and took the coolest Kinder Totem (elephant / man toy). Signed log, took some night pix. Thank you!

What an adorable baby. We really enjoyed the hide. Left the Stone of Rosetta Geocoin and picked up TB.
It was a pleasure meeting you and MS Chief GPS on the trail the other day.
