Geocache Description:

This little geocache will take you to the oldest and most narrow street of Limassol, "Odos Loutron"  or "Vyzantiou Street"! How cool is that?!

On that narrow alley you will find an Ottoman Hamam that gave its name to the alley since "Loutron"  means "Hamam " (Bath). Furthermore you will find something even more interesting and mysterous. On the corner of the alley lies the oldest mansion in Limassol and a mystery is surrounding this house.. Its main entrance on "Ayiou Antreou" street is Gothic style and it is the only one left in Limassol. Nobody knows  the identity of its original owners and over the years the name of the owner was forgotten, the house changed lot of owners and during 1950's it was converted into a brothel! During the restoration works, a secret basement room was found, which belongs to medieval times and it was probably linked to the opposite "Hamam" (Ottoman baths), which during the Frankish period it was an important public building.

The cache is a small plastic container. Please be very carefull due to the high density of muggles in the area! The "tie and untie my shoe cords" trick will give you a sort of "cover". Good luck and enjoy your walk back to history!
