Geocache Description:

Local legend tells that the Devil was travelling north to appear at a Highland Witches black mass. In his excitement, thinking about all that pallid, cavorting naked flesh, he lashed his tail in anticipation and created this extraordinary deep cleft in the rock.

Park at the Queen's View car park. There is free access on Auchineden Hill and you may be tempted to just follow your nose to the cache. Note, that in wet weather the ground is very soft and the small trails can get eroded easily. If you think that maps and compasses are the work of the Devil, follow the well defined path from the car park. In good weather, the view of the Lomondside Hills from this path is stupendous. Finally, as you turn the corner, the Whangie will take you by surprise. The cache is a medium sized tupperware container and is a little way from the main cleft in the rock.
