Early La Grande
In Oregon, United States
How Geocaching Works
When the pioneers began arriving in the mid-1800's, the land and plants looked much different than they do today. Gangloff Park tries to duplicate what early La Grande may have been like. An original old cabin has been moved to the site, and the Oregon Native Plant Society has been busy planting native plants. Even hollyhocks have been planted by the cabin, as a pioneer woman would have done 150 years ago.
After you locate the cache, take the asphalt walkway around this small park and enjoy what the early pioneers must have seen as the "back yard" to their cabin.
People often stop at this park, so please use discretion so as not to compromise the cache site. Hide the container well. And avoid trampling the area, please!
