This cache is located near Eagle Falls, a lesser known and much smaller falls in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
Trail leading to Eagle Falls can be found just off KY 90 right after you drive over a beautiful bridge that crosses the Cumberland River. There is a small, unpaved parking area on the right hand side of the road where the trail begins. It is about a half mile hike to Eagle Falls on a fairly rigorous, but well maintained trail. There are several very nice views of Cumberland falls along the trail, so it would be a good idea to bring a camera. The cache is not actually at Eagle Falls, but a little further down the Eagle Falls loop trail that goes upstream along Eagle Creek. A small trail to Eagle Falls splits off from the loop and cachers are encouraged to hike the short distance to this unique feature. You won't regret it.
The cache is located just past a small cascade upstream from Eagle Falls. You will see a tree with trail maker 9 on it right before reaching the area where the cache is hidden. Cache is right near the trail.
Cache is a surplus U.S. Army ammunition box. Contains log book and pen along with the following items: Showing the Way Travel Bug, air horn, calculator, piece of petrified wood from Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona, multi tool, Kentucky key chain, Coby ear buds, pepper spray.
