At Cuicocha Lake near Cotacachi, Ecuador
You must hike the trail about half way around the lake. If you hike the trail from the visitor's center going clockwise, you will arrive at this cache so after the trail joins with the dirt road and then separates again. You will climb off the road and as soon as you come into a clearing, the cache will be below a bush less than 10 meters off the trail on your left. The cache is a green colored plastic container with log book, pen and simple SWAG. This cache is designed to replace the first cache at the lake, one that was muggled.
Why the name? While much of the breeze you'll feel blows from the coast, that isn't the reason. Four members of the Sea Breeze Community Church hiked the lake with me today and provided me with the honor of helping me hide the cache.
You will have to pay a $1.00 per person fee to enter the park for non-Ecuadorian's on a tourist visa. It is .50 cents for Ecuadorians and residents.
