This is just past the locked gate and parking for the
creek.
From here, one can hike southwest down the creek trail or up the
gently ascending paved road, with caches in both directions. The
sounds of the creek and birds will accompany you both
ways.

It turned out well as I spent the entire morning going around the area getting coordinates for additional EarthCaches. This is the area I did a presentation on how to set up EarthCaches and provided the field guide to the area. A couple of years later, only 2 have been set up. Now it is my turn.I got this on my way back down from the dam. I picked up a 4GB SD card. I don't see why anyone other than a cacher would be up here, but I don't see any pictures to compare to the ones on the card. As I was parking, a good natured ranger asked if I had an adventure pass. I didn't and figured, as in the past, the fine would be the cost of the pass. Not any more, It is a $780 fine to park in the National Forest without an adventure pass . I could run a red light for less than that  . So I had to head back down to Castaic and pick one up and come back. With the help of some other cachers, none of us can find anything to back up the fine amount the ranger quoted. I think I got duped. TFTC. Got done driving around the Old Ridge Route and came over here late to do a little hike. We only made it about 1 mile up the road before it got too dark. Made this quick grab on the way up the road. Thanks

Out for a little drive, and couldn't pass up this quick one with a short walk. I need to come back sometime and get all the surrounding ones, but today wasn't a very good day for it.SL, TFTC!

Out caching with DMTNT, texmexwex, LustyPirateQueen & skater_nater10. Nice little walk to stretch our legs while caching the ridge route. TFTC!
