Geocache Description:

Make sure you read the entire cache description before you start so that you know what you will need to do. This is a 3 stage multicache.

Paranoia is an unfounded or exaggerated distrust of others, sometimes reaching delusional proportions. Paranoid individuals constantly suspect the motives of those around them, and believe that certain individuals, or people in general, are "out to get them."

Stage 1
Ever get that feeling of paranoia where you are constantly looking over your shoulder, thinking that someone or something is watching you? You will probably be feeling just that as you approach the first stage of this geocache. Perhaps there is a mysterious creature that inhabits the area, so be careful. Start at the given trailhead and head towards the posted coordinates. Continue walking along the trail from the posted coordinates, which is just an arbitrary point along the trail. You will want to be constantly looking over your left shoulder for a tree that has 3 orange flagging markers hanging from it. This tree will be within 100m of the posted coords, so if you have gone further than that, then you have gone too far. Once you find this tree, within about 5m of it, you will need to locate a set of 2 flat pieces of coloured wood which are about 6cm long. These 2 pieces of wood are also hanging from a tree. These pieces of wood have holes in them. Count how many holes there are in each piece (hope you don't lose track while counting) and subtract the smaller amount from the greater amount. We will call this result X. I.e., if wood A has 150 holes and wood B has 100 holes, then your answer for X would be 50. In order to find the location of Stage 2 you will need to do the following math:
North: Add X to 107, divide by 1000 and then add this result to the posted North coords.
West: Add X to 225, divide by 1000 and then subtract this result from the posted West coords.
Continue along the trails until you get to Stage 2. I strongly suggest that you continue to look over your left shoulder as you never know what you may find or discover.

Stage 2
I hope you have your flashlights with you as they might come in handy here. A change of underwear might also come in handy for some of you. And above all, watch out for the creature that resides here. I had the misfortune of encountering this rather large creature. I have never seen such a creature before and I can't even begin to say what kind of creature it was. When I encountered it, it made it's move and I didn't bother to stick around. I can tell you that it didn't seem to like the light of my flashlight. Maybe that is a good thing and perhaps kept me safe. If you dare, enter the creature's home and find one of the 2 entrances into it's basement. Have a look in the far corners of the basement and hopefully you will find the necessary information that you need in order to continue on your adventure. Paranoid yet?

Stage 3 (Final)
You have now reached your destination, hopefully everyone in your group is still with you. The cache you seek is a large lock and lock container hidden deep within a small cave. This is rumoured to be the vacation home of the creature that you may have encountered in the basement at Stage 2. I think I may have started that rumour. The creature could easily fit in here, but you can't, so you'll have to reach in for the cache container. However, it's not that easy though. People who have come before you tried to trap the creature in it's vacation home by placing 3 large boulders in front of the cave opening. You and several of your friends will have to use your muscle to move these boulders in order to retrieve the cache. When you are done, make sure you put the cache and the boulders back exactly as you found them. Now look around and smile, you're on Candid Camera! Ok you can go back to your cars now. Don't forget to wash your underwear when you get home.

There is much to see in this area if you take the time to look around and explore including the pond that you will be walking past along with the old dam and even the Speyside dish not too far away. Much of the land to the south however has now been approved for the quarry expansion and you can already see progress of this to the west. This of course does not make the ghosts of Christmas past happy at all. And what about the mysterious creature that I encountered while I was exploring the area? What will happen to it? Is there more than just one creature that lives here? What if there's more? What if some are bigger? What are they and why did I discover one lurking in the darkness of the basement? Maybe basement is not the right word. Perhaps more of a dungeon or a deep prison. Either way one can not help by being a bit paranoid down in there. I actually got the courage to enter again to look for the creature. I wanted to take a picture of it, but I did not have my camera with me, but I did have my PDA and thought I would try and snap a photo and use the light of my flashlight for assistance, but the creature disappeared and I did not spot it again. It wouldn't have been a good picture anyways with my PDA, but it would have been better than nothing and would have been proof hopefully that a strange creature exists in the area here. I hope you have read the entire cache page and if you did then you know what I tell you now in order to find the final is very important. At the second stage what you should do is count the slightly angled beams that support the roof and count how many square holes go down below the concrete floor. A person can easily fit down through these square holes. For the north coordinates of the final, multiply the number of beams by four and then subtract the number of holes and then add the result to the last 2 digits of the posted north coordinates. For the west coordinates of the final, multiply the number of beams by eight and then add nine and then divide this by one thousand and subtract that result from the posted west coordinates. Remember the very first thing I told you at the beginning of the cache description? If you did, then you would be reading this right now before you even started out on this cache and would hopefully not be sticking your head in or crawling around in some basement, although the basement definitely is worth exploring, especially if you are able to get a rare photo of this never before photographed elusive creature. Anyways back to our trusty adventures again who are lost somewhere in the woods on a dark stormy night constantly looking over their shoulders to see if  they are being stalked by an unknown creature or some crazy guy with a camera. I hope they all make it out in one piece and I look forward to hearing any encounters with this creature. You know I will be back too to have a look for myself, but most certainly not on my own anymore. Oh and there was the guy with the helmet that was lurking around the edge of the forest that I spotted as I wandered down a different trail. I was heading right for him when I spotted him less than one hundred meters away. I saw him, but I don't think he saw me. I turned around quickly and made my way back to where I came from. I wonder what else is lurking in the woods here.
