A new treasure down an old path.

The Beautiful Hawkline Sisters are the antiheroines in my favorite Gothic Western. Yes, I've actually read more than one! The sisters were twins, or at least indistinguisable, and this was complicated by the fact that they kept changing appearence and personality. Hmm just thinking about them wants to make me read this book again. Anyway, the coordinates above are not for the cache. They are for what could be the newest morph of the Beautiful Hawkline Sisters. When you are standing by Magic Child and her arboreal sibling you will be very close to the cache site. In fact, I bet you'll be looking right at it. This cache is a very easy one. Nothing to figure out. No research to do. Muggles are very unlikely. Enjoy the fun but PLEASE rehide the cache exactly as you find it. Do not take it upon yourself to make the cache a little easier for the next guy. If you do I'm going to put Shepp on your trail! Also, please watch where you walk and be respectful of the forest. This cache has some pretty good stuff in it for the first finders. Here's a list:

Eleemosynary Travel Bug
JEEP Travel Bug
Touch Screen Data Organizer
Technu
Meditation Tape
Wet Ones
$1,000,000 Bill
1 AAA battery
2 AA batteries
2 Betty Boop Marbles
Snapshots for MITW and Queenfish only!!
Camera to take your Picture; Please leave it in the cache.

I don't think you'll get your winning essay for the Jeep contest out of this cache but you might get a nice hike. I recommend finishing the loop! Thanks for the fun!

Cache Logs

It was a humid but not overly hot August day as we set out for our 5th cache and 5th up hill climb in KSF with WVAngler. The heat slowed us down considerably when combined with the earlier miles today but we trudged onward and upward. Made a big loop using both trails and enjoyed the many rock formations when we finally reached the ridge and began the hike down. The hike out was remarkably shorter or so it seemed, but we were on a quest for State park miles also so we didn't care that the hike was possibly longer than it needed to be. Not familiar with the story line so we didn't get the clue but we made the find without being spotted by a single muggle. Sadly the $1,000,000 bill was gone so we came away with nothing. Neither Dryad, Nor Troll, but there were Twins!

August 3 by WVangler (1109 found)
Well, in a tale of two sisters with morphing personalities, I was sure that the literary analogy here was referring to the difference between Wildcat Ridge Trail and Polly Hollow Trail. We took the deceptive sister, but in the end she proved to be the more scenic trail than the fast route. Really enjoyed this day capping hike on our fifth and last cache of the day. Had a great time hiking with PilotJ and Crew today as always. Also got to add a chunk of miles to my WVDNR Hiking Program card towards my hiking stick which is always a plus. Never really did figure out the literary hints and 'twins' deal. I guess I'm too literal to understand.

We took the kids up today and found this one pretty easy. I finally broke down and bought a Garmin, that performed great. I had my two year old daughter strapped to my back and if you have been there it definitaly was a excersise. Had lots of fun the kids took a trinket each and left some magnet rocks, toy and flower seed packets.

Since I "messed up" and missed the "path" off the trail, I handed over the only GPS , to the ole wise one, potentate geocacher D. Good thing too, cause I was tiring fast of the climb. I was reminding my son in a nice cautious way that we were in snake heaven and to watch where you step too,! Luckily no snakes today! We had a good time and got a glimpse of what we have to look forward to *(see Frex3wv's log) , when our boys reach adolescence. Can't wait!

To kick off Memorial Day Weekend we decided to take up an offer to come visit momoftwinsons at their camper camping spot in KSF. Arrived around 4:30 and then off we went to geocache. The walk and hike were pretty easy - and I found and signed the log book around 5:40. On the switchbacks down, my teenager acted like a teenager - then quickly became pleasent again. Go figure.

We finished our visit back at "camp" by eating bbq chicken and Mary's bakes beans. MMMM MMM Good! Of course, a fire was going the entire time and smores were enjoyed by all.
Thanks to our friends for the invite, the good company, and our chance to get a glimpse into their camping vacation world.

TNLN. TFTC!
