Constitution Hill
This rocky outcrop rises 100m above sea level and gives wonderful
views of Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia. The Cliff Railway was built in
1896 using a water balance system and was converted to electric
power in 1921. Trains leave every few minutes and travel at about
four miles per hour, giving plenty of time to admire the view
unfolding behind you.
At the summit there are toilets, a cafe, frisbee golf, a camera
obscura and gift shop. There is also a free bouncy castle when
weather conditions are suitable. The cafe is open all year round,
times vary according to the season; it opens as a steak house "Y
Consti" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights until late.
The Cliff Railway and summit are accessible to buggies and
wheelchairs. For more information on facilities please telephone
01970 617642.
With thanks to the Management of Constitution Hill for allowing
the placement of this cache.
